Back home on Norfolk Island my birthplace. Most intermittent internet I've ever experienced. To everyone on DA I apologize for my almost non existent presence here but $20 for 5 hours of connectivity means pretty limited ability to maintain even my FB profile lol. Much love to all my DA family you all rock hard!

Seriously its seeing people improve their skills and knowledge that keep me inspired. You have improved technically
so much since I recall our first chats. It is a pleasure. :-)

I've decided to do my Ba Fine Art. Degrees suck I almost had finished it 15 years ago but they are worthless after 10 if you don't work in the field you studied.

Nursing is worse. People not being hired after just 6 month break (recency of practice law in Oz is 3 months in the last 5 years). I can still nurse but I'd rather earn less, stress less work my ass of 7-3 each day with the weekend free. Don't want to totally quit though maybe one day a week/fortnight in a clinic and 4-5 operating heavy machinery doing road work :-)! The rest on art and the art degree.

Occasional exhibition/public art on Norfolk Island and over to Sydney and Brisbane once or twice a year for two major galleries (Rosslyn Art Gallery Sydney and Jugglers Art Space Brisbane).

I've wanted to make a simpler life for myself and concentrate on my art. Still going to be on DA at least as much as I have these last few weeks.

So what's been happening for you my friend? Any exciting projects, random lifestyle changes or other fun events going on? Like I said everyone I've met on DA are amazing people and supper supportive! Good luck and kick ass!

Cheers, no really, thanks ^u^ I think it's mainly down to my teacher pushing me to keep drawing, I was drawing almost every day, and now I can doodle a scruffy person in 20 minutes, haven't tried drawing serious yet, but I'm going to have to for my schoolwork next year...

I need a job real bad >w< I'm trying for stuff in my local area, but until I remember to get my dad to teach me to drive I can't really have anything better, and after that I think retail would be okay as long as it were in a bookshop, retail at a supermarket was awful. As for you, that degree will open some doors, but as long as you enjoy yourself you don't have to work a day in your life. ^u^

I think I should work on speed drawing...? by then I'll be good enough to take my stuffs to an exhibition, and if I can bang out high quality drawings on the spot it would certainly make for an interesting panel >w<

Same, I want to take my character design up a notch, already going to work with a friend who is going into game design, which is really where it will fit in, and if I'm lucky I'll get enough cash to work on my own graphic novel... but... I need to take my art digital, which means I need a tablet, need money, need a job. At lest until my artwork sells ._.

As for projects, thanks for asking, I really do need to write them down >w<

Right now I've been focusing on the sandy region of my world, I've modeled it after ancient Egypt, but populated it with undead beings, and my friends have been helping me by letting me do some RP based around it, so I now have a story of a king who was cast aside, and takes back his country from humans who settled there, enslaving them and using their souls to power their civilization, but lots of people disagree with slavery, so it gives way to lots of political struggles and warring, but they kind of need souls and slave labour, because who would willingly give their life to someone who lives in luxury? so there's a lot more going on in my world now where before it was just Welsh-British culture, dragons and monsters.

What I really need to be doing is 6 detailed pages of research into artists and styles for my A-levels next year because my teacher wants to start next year with a bang, and I'll be focusing on expressions, how people visually show you how they're feeling through their body language and facial expressions, so if I improve a lot on that this (academic) year then I should be able to give a really good visual representation of any person.

Cheers ^u^

Well I'm getting on the plane. I'll shot you a message once I get my internet set up. I think my tablet cost $250 Australian or 125 UK pounds. Its a mid range wacom tablet thingy. I find it somewhat hard to use vs a mouse. Mind I've used a mouse since they first came out in the 80s lol.

Cheers mate good to hear most things going your way! One career I don't advise: nursing lol. Supermarket work is dull but at least you don't come home covered in and smelling of someone else's poo.

Your still to young to join the reserves/tertiary army? I think there was a Au $ 3000 bonus for signing up on the spot. Apparently for uni students to pay for books etc. Cheaper to do that vs Cadet college and military uni degree for a officer cadet.
